Hardwood Stairs and Railings · North Metro Atlanta

Replace stair carpet with solid hardwood treads.

Your staircase is the first thing people see when they walk in. We replace carpet with hardwood treads and risers, and we can swap wood balusters for iron at the same time.

A good fit if

Your stairs still have carpet and the floors around them are wood
Treads are worn, scratched, or squeaky
You want iron balusters or a new handrail
You just redid the floors, and the stairs no longer match

When to choose something else

If the stair framing itself is failing, it needs structural repair before any finish work.

What the free estimate includes

We measure the job, check what's underneath, and go over your options in the rooms they apply to.

Your options

The choices that change how the floor looks, lasts, and costs.

New treads and risers

Solid hardwood treads and risers installed over the existing stair frame. The usual way to go from carpet to wood.

Refinish existing treads

If your treads are already sound hardwood, refinishing costs much less than replacing them.

Iron balusters

Replacing wood spindles with iron changes the look of the entry without touching the floor.

Handrail work

A new rail, a new stain, or matching an existing rail to a refinished floor.

What affects the price

Roughly in order of how much each one moves the number.

Number of treads, risers, and landings
Replacing or refinishing the treads
Number and type of balusters
Straight, curved, or turning railing
Matching the stairs to the floor

Nothing to pay until you approve it

The estimate is free at any project size. Once you approve the written price, a 50% deposit secures your date and materials. The remaining 50% is due after you inspect the finished floor.

How it works

Four steps from your first call to a finished floor.

STEP 1

Tell us about the floor

Call or send the form. A photo of the floor helps. We'll talk through the job and set a time to see it if it needs measuring.

STEP 2

Get a written estimate

Scope and price in writing, usually by text. It's free, and nothing is due until you approve it.

STEP 3

We do the work

We set the date together, and a 50% deposit secures it and your materials. The crew does the work, cleans up, and puts your furniture back.

STEP 4

Inspect the finished floor

You walk the floor with us before you pay the remaining 50%.

Common questions

Can you match the stairs to my floor?

We sample stain on the treads against the floor they meet, so the color carries from one to the other.

How long are the stairs out of use?

For part of the job, plus drying time for the finish. We'll give you the days with your estimate.

Do you replace balusters?

Yes. Swapping wood balusters for iron is a common add-on when stairs go from carpet to wood.

Is it worth doing only the stairs?

Often. Everyone who comes in sees them, so stairs change the look of a house more than their size suggests.
